Rhiannon Bosse believes in the power of celebration. As founder
and creative director of Rhiannon Bosse Celebrations, she has
helped thousands around the world plan weddings and toast other
milestones with a distinct blend of class and contagious joy, all
of which prompted VOGUE and BRIDES Magazine to name her one of the
top wedding planners in the world.
Known for her innovative design capabilities, Rhiannon’s work is
unique and incredibly distinguishable. Her events, editorial work,
and writing have been published in The Knot,
BRIDES, Southern Weddings, Cottage Hill,
and Bridal Guide, as well as featured on a number of their
covers. In addition to being selected as a 2016 Grand Rapids
Business Journal Forty Under 40 recipient, she has been published
countless times on dozens of wedding and lifestyle blogs and has
been on many respected speaking panels across the country. She’s an
accomplished designer, teacher, leader, and entrepreneur.
In addition to serving discerning clientele all over the world,
Rhiannon founded The Trouvaille Workshop, a four-day
educational experience for multifaceted wedding planners. Over 100
women attended the workshop from 2014 to 2017, including business
owners from across the United States, Canada, Brazil, and the
U.K.
Rhiannon hails from Burlington, Ontario but lives in Rockford,
Michigan in the cozy home she and her husband built in 2011. She
loves Friday dates with her two boys, Lachlan and Ev, making a mess
in her 900-square-foot home studio, and trying to find a reliable
from-scratch cinnamon roll recipe. She dreams of the day she gets
to dance with her sons at their weddings (which she’ll obviously
help plan and design).
On today’s episode of The Power in Purpose Podcast:
- Rhiannon talks about why she decided to incorporate florals
into her wedding planning and design business and the year process
she undertook to add floral designer to her resume
- The tipping point that led Rhiannon to discover her
multifaceted purpose, and how feelings of being a “fraud” or being
misunderstood helped her to dig deeply in uncovering her
purpose
- Do you feel like you only need to be known for one thing, and
it’s weighing on your heart? Rhi struggled with the same concept,
and we discuss why this philosophy doesn’t suit everyone, and that
it’s okay to be multifaceted, multi-passionate, and have more than
one purpose.
- Rhiannon gives you clear and straightforward advice on how to
uncover why it is you do what you do and how to quiet the noise
that often gets in the way
- With all of the businesses and facets to Rhi’s career, it would
be easy for her to get overwhelmed. She uses a simple strategy to
stay focused, and we discuss how you can use this strategy too
- When Rhi started her business, she intentionally looked toward
the future and asked herself, “what kind of life do I want?” She
encourages you to ask that same question now, no matter where you
are in your entrepreneurial journey
- Rhi offers us a sobering reminder that the idea that we’ll have
a ‘certain kind of life or business’ when we reach a ‘certain age’
isn’t attainable. Ask yourself, why can’t I have this now?
- We talk about intention, and Rhi shares a philosophy she’s
adapted from her life coach about splitting your time between
things that need to get done vs. things you want to savor. It’s an
eye-opening look at how we tend to speed through everything in
life, especially through the moments we should stop to appreciate
and enjoy.
- Prone to apologizing all the time -- to friends, family, and
clients? Rhi wants you to rethink the apology and offers a solid
tip
- Time is our most precious commodity -- how are you going to
spend yours?
- Imposter syndrome is real, especially when it comes to social
media. If you are struggling with social media affecting your
confidence, usurping your time, getting caught up in comparison, or
one of the many side effects we’re ALL experiencing online -- Rhi
shares her journey in powering down and intentionally walking away
from social media
- If social media is bringing you down, Rhi recommends coming up
with a simple mission statement for how you want to use social
media
