The Power in Purpose: A Wedding Industry Podcast for Wedding Pros

May 12, 2020

Charge what you're worth: Is that really a legit pricing strategy? Nope.

Did I get your attention? In our industry, all you ever hear is “charge what you’re worth.” The problem: selling products and services for less than what your Starbucks order is won’t get you anywhere.

While charging your worth used to work, it doesn’t anymore. Times have changed - especially for wedding pros and creative entrepreneurs.

Yes, you are worth something AND you are very worthy of making the kind of money YOU want to make. However, the pricing for your product or service doesn’t hinge on your worth. It hinges on what YOUR ideal customer is willing to pay and what YOU want to make as a profit. Let’s stop charging what we are worth - and instead, price ourselves for profit.

On Today’s episode of The Power in Purpose Podcast:

  • Why charging what you are worth is not a legit pricing strategy.
  • What factors you should consider when determining pricing for your services.
  • The importance of pricing yourself for profit and what that looks like in your industry.
